ABOUT THE CEO / EP / OWNER

John Giaccone grew up In Wantagh, NY. His love for movies, TV and music started early making short video’s and learning guitar at age twelve. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a major in film from the New York Institute of Technology. Relocating to LA, he landed his first PA job on an award-winning CBS SchoolBreak Special starring Robert Pine. He continued working in television on ‘Made for TV’ films and on the award show circuit for companies including Don Mischer Prods, 10th Planet, Cossette Prods, MTV/VH1 and Zero Point Zero Prods. John relocated to Seattle, WA to focus on screenwriting, filmmaking and music. As a filmmaker and screenwriter he produced and directed the arthouse feature, “Where We All Start” which played in venues around the Northwest and reached the penultimate round at the Austin Film Festival. His digital short, “Talking Dogs” then premiered at New Filmmakers NYC to a receptive audience. His screenplay, “Rearview Mirror” was a semi-finalist in the Fade-In Screenplay Competition.

As a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist John recorded three albums with his rock band, Signal Flags. His songs received airplay on radio stations including KFOG and KEXP. John is determined to bring his passion for film and music together with, “Rearview Mirror” - a feature film taking place at the dawn of the Grunge era in Seattle.

COLETTE JOEL

Colette Joel is a native of New Jersey, and grew up in Los Angeles. She is CEO, Executive Producer and Owner of Handshake Away Productions. Her diverse background within the entertainment industry includes producing, casting, writing, acting, music, and motion picture/FX makeup. She has worked with, and learned from some of the best directors, actors and producers in the business. Her passion for the entertainment industry was ignited upon her first foray into acting as a child. Since that defining moment, she has brought forth an exceptional work ethic, well-defined values, and an unyielding dedication that resonates with her colleagues.

As a filmmaker, Colette conceptualized, and produced a documentary based on The Dead End Kids and The Bowery Boys entitled "Bowery Rhapsody: The Rise and Redemption of Hollywood’s Original Brat Pack" including well-known talent such as Alec Baldwin, Joe Mantegna and Fred Willard. She also co-produced an Independent Film adapted from a book and based on a true story entitled "Me and The Dead End Kid."

In addition, she wrote a pilot for a sitcom, and also directed her own improvisational comedy troupe. With unbridled enthusiasm, Colette is determined to bring "Rearview Mirror" to the forefront. A film which will be enjoyed for years to come.
